Bio
Susan Bruhl, Beeman Systems Coach, MAUSD 504 Coordinator and Transitional Housing Coordinator
With three decades in education, I am feeling at home in my roles within MAUSD, particularly as Beeman’s systems coach. In this role, I work behind the scenes to support the goals staff have to ensure students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. My background as a special educator in Hawaii and Texas, combined with my experience as an administrator in Vermont and advanced degrees in special education and educational psychology, informs my work. More than the degrees and experience, I value the importance of continued growth by working with students, families and staff.
I also cherish my deep roots in the New Haven/Beeman community, as the proud parent of three alumni and the daughter of a 1960 graduate. My fondest memories come from summers spent here with my grandparents. Now, firmly planted in this community, I find joy at home and nourishment watching my kids make their way in this world, traveling, and hiking with my husband and our dog.
