Office of the Principal
Stephanie is a native of Vermont. She grew up on a dairy farm in West Haven and experienced a
truly rural K-8 education in a two (sometimes three)-room multi-age school. This unique setting provided her with early opportunities to be both a teacher and a learner, fueling her passion for education.

truly rural K-8 education in a two (sometimes three)-room multi-age school. This unique setting provided her with early opportunities to be both a teacher and a learner, fueling her passion for education.
Stephanie earned a B.S. in Elementary Education and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Vermont. She then completed her M.Ed. in Science Education through the Vermont Science Initiative and Johnson State College, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from St. Michael’s College. Additionally, she was part of the 2020 cohort of the Vermont School Leadership Project, sponsored by the Snelling Center for Government. Since beginning her teaching career in 1996, Stephanie has taught 4th, 5th, and 6th graders over sixteen years, primarily in southern Vermont. From 2013 to 2016, she served as a math coach and coordinator, as well as an instructional leader at Charlotte Central School. Afterward, she became the PK-4 principal until 2022 and also worked as an assistant principal at Rick Marcotte Central School in South Burlington.
For the past two years, Stephanie has led professional learning for educators as a certified
facilitator for Illustrative Mathematics and as a Seminar Instructor for individuals pursuing their
special educator licensure through the Vermont Higher Education Collaborative. Although she
enjoys working directly with teachers, she is eager to return to an elementary school setting to
engage in active learning alongside teachers and students. Stephanie finds inspiration in
connecting with learners of all ages as they tackle challenges, make new connections, and share
their talents with classmates, teachers, caregivers, and the wider community.
Stephanie lives in Williston, Vermont, with her husband, Sandi, and their children, Sadie (22)
and Jack (19), when they are home from school. Outside of work, she treasures spending time
with family, traveling, kayaking, watching sports, listening to live music, reading, and working
on puzzles.
